What this archive is not.

Numiscue publishes descriptions of how digital assets and their tokens work. It is not financial advice, it is not a recommendation to buy or sell anything, and it is not a substitute for the official documentation it cites.

Not advice

Nothing on this site is investment, financial, legal, accounting or tax advice. No page here takes a view on whether any asset is a good idea, whether now is a good time, or what anything might be worth in future. Those questions are outside what this archive does, deliberately and permanently.

Nobody writing here knows your circumstances, your obligations, your tax position or your tolerance for loss. Decisions about your money are yours, and if you want advice that accounts for your situation, it has to come from someone qualified and regulated to give it where you live.

You can lose everything

Digital assets are volatile and can fall to zero. That is not a hedge; several assets that were once prominent are now worth essentially nothing, and some failed within days.

Losses can also happen without any price movement at all: a platform failing, an account being frozen, a contract being exploited, a bridge being drained, a recovery phrase being lost, or a transaction sent on the wrong network. Several of those are unrecoverable by design, because there is nobody with the authority to reverse them.

Assets described as stable are not exempt. A dollar-referenced token is an obligation of an issuer or the output of a mechanism, and both have failed before. The stablecoin guide covers how.

About the accuracy of what is here

Every factual claim on this site was traced to a primary source and dated before publication, and the archive's method page describes how. That process reduces errors. It does not eliminate them.

More importantly, the subject moves. Protocols change by governance vote, issuers change their reserve composition, exchanges change their terms, and documentation gets revised. A page that was accurate when written can be wrong later without anyone touching it.

This is why every record carries the month its figures were checked and links to the source. Before relying on anything here, follow the link and confirm it still says what this site says it says. If it does not, tell the desk and it will be corrected and logged.

Third-party links

This site links to project documentation, source repositories, block explorers and one exchange. Numiscue does not control any of them, is not responsible for their content, and does not endorse them by linking. Those links exist so that you can verify claims rather than trust them.

Commercial relationship

This site carries one registered referral link, to Binance, on the practical buying guide, and is paid a share of the fees if a reader registers through it. That is a commercial interest and it is disclosed as one, beside the link and in full on the funding disclosure page. It does not make that exchange a recommendation, and nothing here should be read as advice to open an account anywhere.

Regulation and availability

The legal treatment of digital assets differs by country and changes. An asset available to buy where you live may be restricted elsewhere; tax treatment varies widely; some activities described here may be regulated or prohibited depending on your jurisdiction. Nothing on this site is an assurance that any product or activity is lawful or available to you.

No warranty

This site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Numiscue accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published here.

If you notice something on this site that reads as a recommendation or a forecast, that is an editorial failure rather than an intention. Report it and it will be rewritten.
